Freight Shipping Policy
Last Updated: August 2026
Some of the products we carry at Avitka are large and heavy — including riding lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, and portable generators. Items like these cannot be shipped through standard parcel carriers. Instead, they travel via freight (LTL), a specialized delivery method designed for oversized equipment. This page explains how freight shipping works and what you can expect when ordering from avitka.com.
What Is Freight Shipping?
Freight shipping uses a dedicated trucking carrier to transport large or heavy products that exceed the size and weight limits of standard parcel carriers (such as FedEx or UPS Parcel). A commercial freight driver will bring your palletized equipment directly to your delivery address on a scheduled appointment window. This specialized handling ensures that bulky machinery arrives securely strapped, protected, and in brand-new operational condition.
Which Products Require Freight Shipping?
Freight shipping is used for the following categories of equipment across our catalog:
If an item in your cart requires freight delivery, this will be clearly designated on the product specification page prior to checkout.
Is Freight Shipping Free?
Yes. Avitka provides Free Freight Delivery on all orders within the 50 United States. What you see at checkout is your final total — there are never hidden fuel surcharges, residential delivery fees, or extra liftgate charges applied to your order.
How Long Does Freight Delivery Take?
Freight orders typically arrive within 3–7 business days following carrier dispatch. All orders are processed, inspected, and palletized within 1 business day (Monday through Friday) at our Liberty, Missouri facility.
Delivery transit timelines may vary slightly based on regional freight terminal routing and geographical distance from our warehouse. You will receive an estimated delivery window and active carrier BOL tracking as soon as your pallet departs.
How Does Freight Delivery Work?
Freight delivery differs from standard parcel drop-offs. Here is the step-by-step process you can expect after placing your order:
- Dispatched with Tracking: Once your equipment leaves our warehouse, we email you a direct freight tracking number and carrier name.
- Scheduled Appointment: When the pallet reaches your local destination terminal, the freight carrier will call you to schedule a convenient delivery appointment window. Please ensure your contact phone number is accurate at checkout.
- Adult Signature Required: An adult (18 years or older) must be present at the delivery location to inspect and sign the carrier’s delivery receipt (Bill of Lading).
- Curbside Liftgate Delivery: The freight driver lowers your pallet using a hydraulic liftgate to curbside or driveway level. Inside delivery, stair carries, or unboxing services are not included.
What to Do When Your Freight Order Arrives
Before you sign the driver’s paperwork, please perform the following quick inspection checklist:
- Inspect the outer shrink wrap, straps, and wooden pallet for tears, gouges, or signs of crushing.
- If you observe visible carton damage, clearly write "Damaged Upon Arrival" on the delivery receipt before signing.
- Take clear photos of any damaged packaging, serial labels, and affected machine components.
- Contact our support team immediately at contact@avitka.com or +1 (816) 280-9461.
What If My Freight Order Arrives Damaged?
If your machinery sustains in-transit damage, do not assemble, fuel, or operate it. Contact us immediately:
- Email contact@avitka.com with your order number and attached photos of the damage.
- Our logistics specialists will review your report and arrange an expedited replacement or process a 100% full refund, depending on your preference.
- You will not be charged any return shipping or restocking fees on damaged shipments.
Tracking, Missed Appointments & Address Errors
Can I Track My Freight Order?
Yes. Once your order departs, we email you carrier details and a PRO/BOL tracking number. Please allow 24–48 hours for local terminal scans to populate active milestone updates.
What If Nobody Is Home at Delivery?
Because freight deliveries require an adult signature, failing to be present during your confirmed delivery appointment may result in storage or redelivery fees charged by the carrier. If you anticipate an unavoidable schedule conflict, contact the carrier or email us at contact@avitka.com as early as possible to reschedule.
Address Errors
If you notice a typo in your destination address, contact us immediately at contact@avitka.com or +1 (816) 280-9461. Address corrections made prior to warehouse departure are free. Once a freight shipment is with the line-haul carrier, rerouting or reconsignment may incur terminal fees.
Accepted Payment Methods
To ensure a seamless checkout experience, Avitka accepts the following secure payment methods identically across our website, checkout, and informational pages:
All transactions are heavily encrypted and processed securely. If you experience any payment gateway issues during checkout, please reach out to our support team.
Do You Offer International Freight Shipping?
No. All freight equipment orders are delivered strictly within the United States (all 50 states). We do not offer international freight delivery or cross-border freight shipping at this time.
